Sports Chiropractic Health Screening & Advocacy Day - October 9th
On October 9th, the PCA successfully hosted a Sports Chiropractic Health Screening & Advocacy Day at the Pennsylvania State Capitol. This initiative enabled PCA members to provide health screenings for over 40 individuals. Additionally, two advocacy teams engaged directly with several legislators and their staff, discussing critical issues pertinent to chiropractic care. Learn more here.
PA House Professional Licensure Committee Meeting - October 29th
On October 29th, the PCA attended the PA House Professional Licensure Committee Meeting. Our significant Delegation Bill, HB 1106, currently remains in Committee, awaiting scheduling for a vote.
PA Athletic Oversight Committee Meeting - October 30th
On October 30th, the PCA attended the PA Athletic Oversight Committee meeting at the State Capitol. Discussions centered on the 2024 PIAA report, and it was announced that Robert Lombardi will be resigning at the end of the year. Congratulations to Dr. Lombardi on a dedicated career of public service.
The PCA engaged with Mark Byers, who is currently the Chief Operating Officer and is set to become the Executive Director.
The Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association has formally expressed its support for House Bill 1925, focusing on the regulation of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Letters of support were submitted to Representative Kosierowski, Representative Venkat, and the Executive Director of the House Communications and Technology Committee.
On November 6th, Congressman John Joyce, M.D., a dedicated advocate for chiropractic care in Pennsylvania, hosted a fundraiser. This event was attended by Congressman Ronny Jackson, M.D. (TX), a distinguished former White House physician. The primary objective is to secure Rep. Jackson’s co-sponsorship of H.R. 539, the Chiropractic Medicare Coverage Modernization Act, which represents a crucial step towards achieving full Medicare recognition for chiropractic services.
